Hey all, Im everso bored and waiting by the phone to see if I have got a job or not....went for an interview this morning at a wonderful school...the interview went really well...and I should hear this evening whether I got it or not...they are interviewing all day though so there could be some stiff competition!! The phone just rang a minute ago and I lept to get it and it was a Head from another school offering me an interview next week!! So at least if I don't get this job I have a shot next week too! arrrrrgh, this is such a nerve wracking time, I am seriously running out of time to get a job for september to start my induction year...cross your fingers for me!!! :teacher:

Didn't get it...The Headteacher just called and said I was 'Pipped to the post in a very strong group of candidates' he also said that I gave the best presntation of the day and he has no doubt I will make an 'outstanding teacher' I felt like saying 'why not in your school then??!?!?'

I am really gutted, I LOEVD the school, I felt right at home there as soon as I walked through the doors...you don't get that in all schools...

Aw bad luck, sorry hun :hugsmiley You will be lucky soon I know it & it will be worth the wait. We have a young couple just moved in opposite us, they are lovely & both teachers, but they must be really struggling as they have started selling Avon & she works all day Sunday in The Range department store. I feel so sorry for them, but they are alway smiling & polite. Teachers should get pain more!! :angrysmiley2

I'd go with that too!! oooh yes!! I don't mean to sound bitter but it feels even worse now my friend has just got a temp job in admin and is on a far higher salary than what my starting wage will be! This is just a stop gap for her and she has no experience in admin type work...and she admits herself she spends a lot of the day on Facebook!!!

The competition for teaching jobs is so high, the govenment would have us believe there is a shortage which is just not true, they are allowing/encouraging far too many people to train and that is why as a trainee teacher you end up being up against 150 other people for one job....and all this to enter a very stressful underpaid job...

Awww, Emma, I am so sorry! Keep your chin up hon, when one door closes another one opens, and usually that other door has better things behind it. You have studied hard and it will pay off, to be sure! There is somewhere that needs you, they just haven't found you yet but when they do they'll throw a party!
