Title: Debbie/miller's Mom, Where Are You?
Description: Still looking for a lab puppy?
MyBoyGus - July 11, 2008 05:36 PM (GMT)
I just got a phone call and it looks like I am getting a litter of 9 week old lab puppies this afternoon. I'll probably only have them for the weekend, if they aren't all adopted by then. Interested in a road trip to the Washington DC area? They are all AKC puppies, all black.

I'm sorry Debbie. You have to do what you have to do, I just wanted to make sure that you knew about it. :hugsmiley Sounds like a nice batch of pups, there are 7 of them. Somebody who works with different rescue, but mostly does St Bernard rescue was picking up a dog a few hours away, and they had this litter by the side of the road in an ex-pen out in the direct sunlight, no shade at all. That person called our rescue and picked them up, she must have bought the whole litter, and brought them back up. She had to make sure that she had a place for them before she brought them up. Good luck in your search!

It's a shame we couldn't find a way to relay one to you. We'd get it across Indiana for you, Debbie!
GoldenMom - July 12, 2008 01:07 AM (GMT)
I talked to Debbie just about an hour ago and told her maybe a relay could get her one but she didn't want to get her hopes up.
Mel, bottle some of that puppy breath and send it to me.!

The transport isn't the problem, there are a lot of organizations that do that. Holly came from Ohio to Maryland that way. But our rescue requires that you meet a dog before you take it. I can pull some strings in some ways, but not that one.
GoldenMom - July 12, 2008 01:59 AM (GMT)
That is perfectly understandable, Mel. Best for the human AND the dog

I got a phone call at the last minute and they got in touch with the woman who usually takes the puppies in, so I never got them.
But here are some pics:

And if you can think you can do a road trip in the near future, we have another litter of 4 week olds, they will be ready August 10.

We also have 8 more puppies, 2 black (1 male and 1 female) and 6 yellow (3 male and 3 female). All are doing well and growing like mad. They were born on Fathers Day and will be 4 weeks old the 13 of July. They can be adopted when they are 8 weeks old which is the 10th of August.

Debbie, none of the pups have been adopted yet. If you can come down relatively soon, we can probably arrange for your approval, etc before you come. It is definitely a long way, so if you can find one elsewhere, go for it, these guys will be adopted.
SuzySues - July 15, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)

Right around the corner somewhere. That is how life is. Cheer up my friend. Your special little guy or girl will be here soon. :hugsmiley :hugsmiley
Mel is right. They will find very good homes for these sweeties. They are all just beautiful. pitter patter my heart goes.

Things constantly change, and I will be getting them Friday night. There is a 3rd litter going too. We are overrun with puppies right now.
MyBoyGus - July 17, 2008 01:23 PM (GMT)
One has been adopted, so now I am getting 5 of them, and on Friday afternoon. The other litter that will be there is 9 weeks old (all black) and these guys will be 10 weeks old as of Saturday. The good news (I guess) is that back yard breeders are starting having a hard time selling their pups, so maybe they will cut back. Of course, it just means more will come in to rescue.
