Title: Harry Is (at Last!) A 'flyball Dog'

Well on Harrys debut flyball tournament he gained his first title...he got his 'Flyball dog' award!! Im so proud of him and he raced really well!! Basically every dog that runs collects points towards the titles...for every race that is ran in less than 22 seconds, each dog in the team is awarded 25 points...Harry came away with 475 points!! (So you can see how many races he ran in!!) We only won 3 races as the team has never been in such a high division before...some teams were racing at like 19 seconds...our best time that day was something like 20.08 seconds (which isn't bad!) but the main thing is Harry really didn't put a paw out of place, he is very consistant and it is me really that needs to work on exactly what point to release him to get the fastest race. The first title they gain is 'flyball dog' which is awarded at 200 points so Harry, with 475 points is almost half way to the 'Intermediate award' which is awarded at 1000 points...which isn't bad for his first outing!!

| The day saw us in the dizzy heights of Division 2 and after studying the seed times of our division competitors it was apparent we would not be in the rosettes. Undaunted we set ourselves the target of getting Daisy and Harry their 200 points and the title 'Flyball Dog'. We started with Millie as height dog and Harry running third, we were all thrilled when he completed his first run successfully, Emma soon lost her nerves and started enjoying our time in the ring. After two races we felt we could replace Millie with Daisy and again she didn't falter. By the end of the morning Harry had his 200 points with Daisy gaining hers in the afternoon. We enjoyed some tight racing but as expected we came sixth in our division. We were not disappointed as we now have two new division dogs and hope to have the Hot Shots up and running in time for Howden. |
