Swollen Paw, A fortune in vet bills

Well, she did it again. Abby licked herself raw on one of her toes, and now her entire paw is swollen. She's taken to hiding in rooms that we aren't in so she can lick without us constantly yelling at her. I need to win the lottery just to pay for her vet bills!

So off to the vet we go in the morning. I've got her paw all socked up, tied on with a stretchy fabric headband -- it's either that or the Cone of Shame! (ever see the movie "Up"??? so funny with the dogs)

Squirrel! Yes, I saw the movie, and I loved it. She is getting hot spots, not uncommon. Something bothers them and they lick it until it is raw. I wonder if it was her foot that she hurt when she was limping last week. Goodtim'n has written some posts on what she does for hot spots. Give Abby a hug from us. :hugsmiley :hugsmiley

Seems like something is going around here too. I have three that are licking and chewing. I think its because I have the heater on to much and its drying them out. I don't know. They are raw. I put on meds and they lick it off.

Well, she had all four paws shaved down at the vet today, and hoooboy, she has a LOT of sores in those lil paws. The swollen one isn't as bad as it was yesterday, so soaks in cool epsom salts is the order of the day.
